Fire Prevention

During Fire Prevention Week our department invites kids from the area school to come to the fire station.  We teach them about fire safety, the importance of making sure that they have a working smoke detector at home, how to practice fire drills at home as well as at school, and how to "stop, drop, and roll".

We also show the children what equipment we use in the fire department.  We even let them try on a set of "fire gear" and spray some water from the hose!  We hope that through these efforts, we can raise the awareness of the importance of fire safety, and teach the children what to do in case of an emergency.
