Water & Sewer Bills

Water/Sewer Bills
Utility bills are mailed or emailed on a quarterly basis for all water and sewer customers. Utility Bills can be paid in person at City Hall, dropped in the payment box in front of City Hall, mailed or paid online. Please remember, it is never a good idea to leave cash in the drop box. The City of Hudsonville is not responsible for cash payments deposited into the drop box.

City ordinance requires a 10% penalty on all bills paid after the due date. Postmarks are NOT accepted.
Missing, lost, or undelivered bills do not exempt you from payment. Watch for your bill every quarter and call us if you do not receive one.

Here you can find water and sewer account information and make online payments.  Water and sewer information is updated daily. For more information please call 616-669-0200.

Water and Sewer Rates

Bills are calculated using two factors:

1. Readiness to Serve - This covers the costs of maintenance, repair, and replacement of the water and sewer systems. Such as pipelines underground, the water tanks, and the sewer pump stations.

Quarterly Water Ready-to-Serve Charge is applicable to all customers with public water service. Ready-to-Serve Charge will be assessed whether or not the water meter is installed and whether or not water is being used. The Ready-to-Serve is not charged if the water service is capped because of destruction or demolition of the structure served by the lateral. If the owner of a residential, commercial, industrial, or other property requests cessation of service (i.e. water is turned off at the stop box and the meter is pulled) a Ready-to-Serve charge will be charged at the same rate as if a 5/8-inch meter was installed.

Quarterly Sewer Ready-to-Serve Charge is applicable to all customers with public sewer service. Ready-to-Serve Charge will be assessed whether or not sewer is being used. The Ready-to-Serve is not charged if the sewer lateral is capped because of destruction or demolition of the structure served by the lateral. If the owner of a residential, commercial, industrial, or other property requests cessation of service (i.e. water is turned off at the stop box and the meter is pulled) a Ready-to-Serve charge will be charged at the same rate as if a 5/8-inch meter was installed.

Moving and Meter Readings

If you are moving into or out of a home in Hudsonville, contact our office at 616-669-0200.  We will set up your new water/sewer bill account or schedule a final water reading for your account and switch the service to the new owner. Final meter readings requires a notice of two working days.

High Water Bill

Please check your meter to make sure it was read properly. If the reading on the bill is higher than on your meter, call 616-669-0200 to have your bill evaluated. If the meter reads higher than the bill reading, you may want to check for dripping faucets or toilets (toilets running are the primary cause of high water usage). Underground sprinkling systems that have not been properly winterized may also cause high usage.
